Item for action - The Commission will consider 2 petitions from Center for Biological Diversity and other activist organizations seeking to 1) remove a pursuit only season for bears, lions, and raccoons from the list of tools that the Commission and Department can use, and 2) remove dogs as an allowed method of take for beard, lions, rabbits, tree squirrels, predators, and fur-bearers
NOTE:  The petitions being on the agenda do not reflect support for them by the Department or the Commission.  
What You Can Do - 
Show the Commission that we support their reliance on science the the Department’s professionals in managing wildlife for us.
Show the anti-hunting crowd that we are watching them and we are ready for their fight
Show that regardless of the anti-hunting attacks on specific areas of hunting, all types of hunters will come to the fight. Although many of us don’t hunt with hounds, we are all willing to stand up to defend this type of pursuit.
Turnout to: Speak to the commission with a brief 1 minute statement thanking them for what they do, and supporting their inevitable decision not to alter our current hunting regulations.

It is time for the CDFW to present a realistic report on the health of our mule deer, elk and antelope herds in CA, and how do those herds support 3 unmanaged apex predators sustainably?

Bold Nationwide Call: bringing hounds to the bear woods of California!

AB1038 brings hounds back to the bear woods in CA, and it gives the Commission and Dept the tools needed for effective black bear management, increased harvest where warranted and more effective conflict reduction.
This is a nationwide call to action - because a win in California is a win for everyone! Time to step in and help here... this will be a long campaign where we are approaching the 2nd gate, of about 7 if we are to take this all the way.

Shelina Moreda rallied a community of farmers, ranchers and local food advocates to beat Measure J in Sonoma County. She helped develop the messaging, the values statements and the strategy to steer this Northern California community away from a terrible anti-livestock, anti-ranching initiative. We dig in to find that the attacks on ranchers, land stewards and hunters are frequently very similar, possibly coming from the same socially disruptive NGOs.

End Colorado Wolf Reintroduction, with Smart Wolf Policy

Can you love wolves, and still seek to end the forced importation of wolves to CO? Yes.
Can you be pro-livestock, and still acknowledge that wolves (living w/in wild ecosystems) can have a place on the landscape? Yes.
Wolf "reintroduction" was a charismatic but fictional vision that compelled Colorado voters to narrowly choose to forcibly import wolves from 1000s of miles away. These wolves could not be relocated to Federal land, deep in the National Forests where you might expect. Instead, the relocations landed wolves (with a pre-existing record of preying on livestock) into habitat very close to the heart of Colorado's cattle rangelands.
The result of this voter-approved experiment: social tension, tremendous cost overruns, and wolves, livestock and food producers being treated terribly.
